I’ll be honest.

There was a time in my life when I wanted God to change my situation without changing me first.

I wanted bigger opportunities, more peace, more purpose, more clarity… but I was still thinking small, talking negative, procrastinating, and making excuses for why I couldn’t move forward.

And God had to lovingly show me something:

You cannot step into a new season with an old mindset.

That thing humbled me quickly.

It reminds me of the story of the Israelites after God delivered them from Egypt.

These people had literally watched God part the Red Sea, send miracles from heaven, and rescue them from slavery.

And yet… they still kept complaining.

Every inconvenience turned into:

“We should go back.”
“This is too hard.”
“At least Egypt was familiar.”

Imagine being free and still thinking like a slave.

Whew.

And before we judge them too quickly, a lot of us do the exact same thing.

God starts pulling us into growth, and suddenly we get uncomfortable.

He tells us to trust Him financially, and we panic.

He calls us to heal, and we resist.

He pushes us toward purpose, and we start making excuses.

Because growth will always challenge the mindset you’ve been living in.

The Israelites wanted the promise, but they didn’t want the process.

And honestly? The process is necessary for manifestation

And some Christians still do that today.

We want success without obedience to God's word.

You can't have transformation without renewing our minds.

Romans 12:2 tells us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.

That means if your thinking never changes, your life won’t either.

I had to stop feeding negativity and start feeding my spirit with the word of God.

I had to stop rehearsing everything wrong in my life and start speaking what God said instead.

I had to stop making excuses for why I wasn’t growing.

Because excuses will keep you wandering in circles.

Some people spend more time scrolling social media than investing in themselves.

More time complaining than praying. More time talking about what’s wrong than doing something to change it.

Then they wonder why they still feel stuck.

Sis… growth is intentional.

Read the book.
Learn the skill.
Spend time with God.
Change your environment.
Watch your mouth.
Stop speaking defeat over your future.

Life and death are in the power of the tongue.

And please stop answering “not bad” every time somebody asks how you’re doing.

We always saw in the scripture they would say, "It is well."

You’re a child of God, not a hostage negotiator.

Speak life.

The truth is, this world already has enough excuse-makers and negative thinkers.

God is looking for believers who are willing to grow, obey, build, and trust Him even when it’s uncomfortable.

So no, this isn’t about perfection.

It’s about refusing to stay stuck.

Because the promised land requires a different mindset than Egypt.

And the version of you God is calling higher cannot keep thinking like the version He delivered.

In a world where relationships fold under pressure, Erica Campbell and Warryn Campbell just reminded everybody what covenant love really looks like.

Their beautiful vow renewal was giving Ruth and Boaz energy, sprinkle with love is patient, love is kind” and a little grown-folk wisdom, healed hearts, and real commitment behind it.

The kind of love the Bible talks about isn’t flashy for a moment — it builds legacy, covers hard seasons, and still chooses each other when the cameras are off.

That’s what made this moment so powerful. You could see years of prayer, sacrifice, forgiveness, and purpose standing at that altar together again.

 A family leaving a blueprint.

Too many people chase attention, but legacy? Legacy is different. Legacy is building something so rooted in faith and loyalty that your children, community, and even strangers can look at it and say, “That’s the kind of love I want.”

And honestly, we should all aim higher than fairytale romance. Aim for the kind of love that survives storms, grows deeper with time, and honors God while doing it.

Now that’s relationship goals.

Pastor Jamal Bryant is making headlines again but this time, it’s not for a sermon. It’s for a solution.

New Birth Missionary Baptist Church has announced plans for “New Birth Village,” a 390-unit affordable housing development designed to support Black families and individuals struggling with today’s rising housing costs.

And honestly, the timing couldn’t be more important.

As rent prices continue climbing and homeownership feels out of reach for many families, especially within Black communities, New Birth is stepping beyond the church walls and addressing a real-life crisis head-on. Instead of letting church-owned land sit unused, the ministry is turning it into opportunity, stability, and housing.

That’s bigger than real estate  that’s community impact.

Pastor Bryant has long been known for blending faith with activism, and this project continues that mission. “New Birth Village” represents a growing movement where churches are no longer just places people go for worship on Sunday, but places that actively help people survive and thrive throughout the week.

For many families, affordable housing is more than finding a place to live. It’s peace of mind. It’s the ability to save money, build generational wealth, and remain in communities that are rapidly changing due to gentrification and rising costs.

What makes this initiative stand out is that it offers a blueprint other churches and organizations can follow. Imagine how many communities could change if more faith institutions invested in housing, education, and economic empowerment the same way.

“New Birth Village” isn’t just another development project. It’s a reminder that the church can still play a major role in solving modern problems — not only spiritually, but economically and socially too.

And for hundreds of families, this could be the beginning of a brand-new chapter.

There are two things that can be true at once:

You can admire someone’s drive…

and still question the system around them.

And that’s exactly where many people landed with Coach Stormy Wellington

From Pressure to Power

Born in New York City and raised in Miami, Florida, Stormy Wellington’s story is not polished—it’s powerful.

She dropped out of high school in the ninth grade… and still built an empire.

Not just any empire—one rooted in direct sales and network marketing, where she rose to become a top distributor for Farmasi.

Her accolades speak loudly:

First African American leader to reach the prestigious President rank at Farmasi
Named the #1 female network marketer globally by Business for Home
Founder of Girl Hold My Hand Inc.
Star of Million Dollar Hustle on Lifetime

She’s also an author, with books like The Quiet Storm and 9 Laws of Success pouring into women who are ready to level up.

But let’s not dilute it.

Stormy is not soft-spoken.

She is:

Direct

Raw

Unapologetic

A no-nonsense coach in every sense of the word.

And whether you love it or hate it… her message hits.

The Energy That Builds… and Breaks

Here’s the truth most people don’t say out loud:

The same energy that builds influence can also create resistance.

Stormy doesn’t coddle.

She doesn’t chase.

And if you’re not executing?

She’s not waiting on you.

That kind of leadership?

It produces results—but it also creates friction.

Especially with audiences who may not be ready for that level of accountability.

When Motivation Meets Reality

Now here’s where it gets real.

Coach Stormy was sued by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

The core issue?

Allegations that income potential within her business opportunity was presented in a way that may have been misleading.

The claims suggested that recruits could earn:

Six figures
Seven figures
Even millions in a relatively short time

These messages were communicated through:

Social media
YouTube
Marketing content

But the FTC brought data to the table:

In some cases, 76.8% of participants earned nothing
In others, less than 1% reached six figures

So while the message was:
“You can get rich.”

The reality for most people was:
“You probably won’t.”

And that gap?

That’s where legal problems live.

Let’s Talk Truth (Even If It’s Uncomfortable)

Not everyone is going to win.

Let’s be honest:

Some people don’t work
Some people quit too early
Some people lack the discipline required

And if you’ve ever listened to Stormy, you know one thing she does emphasize:

👉 You have to WORK.

From personal observation, she didn’t hand out guarantees.

She showed:

What’s possible
What her lifestyle looks like
The grind it took to get there
The level of commitment required

So this situation isn’t black and white.

It’s layered.

Because there’s a difference between:

Selling a dream… and selling a probability.

The Settlement: Structure Over Hype

Coach Stormy ultimately settled allegedly the case.

Which means:

Income claims must now be backed by evidence
Marketing must reflect realistic outcomes—not just best-case scenarios

And honestly?

That’s not a loss.

That’s alignment.

Because now:

The message has to match the math.

One thing that stood out to me?

She didn’t crumble under pressure.

She leaned into her faith, declaring:
“No weapon formed against me shall prosper.”

That says everything.

She’s not folding.

She’s recalibrating.

And if you understand anything about women like Stormy, you know this:

They don’t disappear in storms.

They rename them.

So we are looking for more Faith, Fire, and Forward Motivation from Coach Stormy

Mike Epps said something in a recent interview that hit harder than a Monday morning alarm clock: “Don’t question God’s NO, it’s meant to protect you.” And honestly? That’ll preach and save you from a whole lot of unnecessary drama.

Think about it. Half the stuff we cried over years ago would have had us stressed, broke, bald, or posting “healing era” quotes every other day on Instagram. That job you didn’t get? Toxic. That relationship that fell apart? Whew — God saw the red flags before you did. That opportunity that disappeared? Probably came with a side of chaos and unpaid invoices.

We love questioning closed doors like we got VIP access to the universe’s blueprint. Meanwhile, God is up there saying, “I said NO because you don’t have the bail money for what comes next.”

The truth is, rejection feels personal when you’re in the moment. We take it as failure instead of protection. But sometimes the delay, the denial, and the detour are all part of keeping your peace intact. Every “no” isn’t punishment — sometimes it’s divine security.

Mike Epps has always mixed humor with real-life wisdom, and this one landed because it’s relatable. We’ve all wanted something so badly, only to look back later and thank God it didn’t happen. Growth will make you realize some blessings show up disguised as disappointment.

So next time life tells you “no,” don’t spiral. Don’t send that extra paragraph text. Don’t force the door open. Just trust that some things are blocked because your future self would’ve been exhausted trying to survive them.

Sometimes God’s “NO” is really Heaven saying, “Trust me… you would’ve hated it there.”

In a remarkable display of gratitude and servant leadership, a pastor based in the United Kingdom has touched hearts by gifting land properties to members of his ministry team as a token of appreciation for their dedication and years of faithful service in the church.

The generous gesture has sparked admiration within the Christian community and beyond, highlighting the importance of honoring those who labor tirelessly behind the scenes in ministry. From administrative staff and worship leaders to outreach coordinators and volunteers, the recipients were reportedly overwhelmed with emotion as they received the unexpected gifts.

According to sources close to the ministry, the pastor explained that the land gifts were not merely acts of generosity, but symbols of value, stability, and legacy. He emphasized that ministry is built not only on the vision of one leader, but on the sacrifice, commitment, and unity of an entire team working together for God’s purpose.

“People who serve faithfully deserve to be appreciated in meaningful ways,” the pastor shared during a special appreciation gathering. “This is my way of saying thank you for standing with the ministry through every season.”

The act has been praised as a refreshing example of leadership rooted in gratitude rather than hierarchy.

Many social media users and church leaders have described the gesture as inspiring and uncommon, noting that it reflects biblical principles of generosity, stewardship, and honoring those who serve faithfully in God’s house.

In many churches and organizations, volunteers and staff often work long hours with little recognition. By choosing to honor his team in such a life-changing way, the pastor demonstrated that genuine appreciation can leave a lasting impact.

Beyond the physical value of the properties, the gifts symbolize trust and empowerment. For several recipients, owning land represents an opportunity to build homes, invest in the future, and create generational stability for their families.

This extraordinary act also serves as a reminder to leaders everywhere that appreciation should go beyond words. Whether through encouragement, support, or tangible acts of kindness, recognizing the efforts of dedicated team members can strengthen unity and foster a culture of love and loyalty within any organization.

As news of the pastor’s generosity continues to spread, many are calling it a powerful testimony of compassionate leadership and a shining example of how ministry can positively transform lives both spiritually and practically.

Mother’s Day is beautiful for many people. Timelines are filled with flowers, brunches, heartfelt captions, and old family photos. Many have been blessed with loving, nurturing mothers who prayed for them, protected them, and poured into them.

But for others… Mother’s Day feels heavy.

While social media celebrates motherhood, many quietly carry wounds. Some grew up with toxic mothers.

Some experienced abandonment, manipulation, emotional neglect, or even abuse. Others lost their mothers too soon. And some women longed to have the kind of mother they saw everyone else posting online.

The truth is: not everyone has a Hallmark story.

For many, Mother’s Day becomes a reminder of what they didn’t receive.

But even in that grief, God steps in with compassion

Scripture says in Psalm 27:10, “Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me.” God has always had a special tenderness toward the rejected, abandoned, and brokenhearted.

God’s love is not cold or distant. In many ways, Scripture describes Him with the nurturing care of a mother.

In Isaiah 66:13, God says, “As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you.”

Think about that.

The God of Heaven compares His comfort to the embrace of a loving mother. The kind of love that wipes tears, protects, nurtures, and stays present.

For those who never experienced that naturally, God can become what was missing emotionally and spiritually. He heals wounds that people pretend don’t exist. He restores identity after years of rejection. He teaches people what love is supposed to feel like.

Mother’s Day can be joyful and painful at the same time.

So while some celebrate, let’s also make room for those who are healing.

And to the motherless, the grieving, the rejected, and the ones carrying silent pain: God sees you. God loves you. And His love is still able to nurture the places life left wounded.

Christian Actor Clifton Powell got the internet talking after saying marriage was one of the greatest mistakes of his life.

And whew chile, I guess that’s what happens when you’re a the saint and a sinner.

Now we don’t know Clifton nor his wife , nor do we know if he was even a good husband.

Some people think they should be given more than they deserve.

But to his credit…if we’re honest, a whole lot of people have receipts from relationships they never should’ve entered in the first place.

Some folks didn’t marry their purpose… they married their pressure, loneliness, lust, or potential project.

And this is exactly what happens when people refuse to wait on God.

See, everybody screams “God sent him” after two dates, one vacation, and a couple cute selfies.

Meanwhile God is in heaven like, “I never said that man was your wife or husband.”

And people really don’t want discernment they want butterflies, attention, and somebody to text back fast.

The problem is, when you move ahead of God, eventually the bill comes due.

Now you’re emotionally drained, spiritually exhausted, financially stressed, and calling your prayer circle every other Thursday because you ignored every red flag wrapped in cologne and good conversation.

God showed you the temper. God showed you the inconsistency. God showed you the pride. But because they were fine, successful, funny, or could quote two scriptures, you called it “confirmation.”

Baby… that wasn’t chemistry, nor was it covenant.

The Bible says, “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.”

Waiting is not punishment. Waiting is protection. Some people are mad they’re single when they should be thanking God they avoided a lifetime subscription to confusion.

Too many people want wedding pictures but not healing. They want companionship and do not want accountability.

They want kingdom marriage without kingdom discipline. And then when the relationship crashes and burns, suddenly everybody wants to fast and hear from God after ignoring Him the entire dating phase.

That’s why stories like Clifton Powell’s hit people differently. Because no amount of fame, money, talent, or success can save you from decisions made outside God’s will.

You can have a red carpet life and still cry yourself to sleep over a relationship God told you to leave alone.

Sometimes God delays relationships because He’s trying to save you from unnecessary heartbreak, debt, soul ties, drama, and generational dysfunction. But people hate waiting.

They’d rather force a relationship than trust God’s timing.

And let’s be real: some folks didn’t marry out of love they married out of fear of being alone.

That’s why discernment matters.

Because everybody smiling in your face is not assigned to your destiny. Everybody praying with you is not prepared to build with you. And everybody calling themselves “king” or “queen” is not emotionally mature enough for covenant.

Moral of the story? Stop begging God to bless relationships He never approved. If God keeps saying “wait,” maybe it’s because He sees what you refuse to see.

Delayed does not mean denied.

Sometimes it means “I’m saving you from a disaster with good lighting.”

Mike Todd has officially entered the Church Group Chat Hall of Fame with the statement that Jesus the Son is also the “sun” of the world.

Somewhere, a Baptist deacon dropped his coffee, a theology nerd opened Logos Bible Software with trembling hands, and one lady in the comment section typed, “THIS IS HERESY” in all caps before finishing to make her potato salad.

Now, admittedly, my first reaction was: “Sir… please step away from the microphone.”

But after the initial eye twitch? He’s not entirely off his rocker.

Because biblically speaking, Jesus is associated with light, illumination, life, and the sustaining power behind creation.

The issue is not necessarily the metaphor itself.

Scripture actually gives him plenty of cosmic imagery. The issue is when pastors start sounding like they got their sermon notes from a Marvel movie trailer and a TED Talk simultaneously.

Jesus literally said:

“I am the light of the world.” — The Gospel of John 8:12

Not a light.

THE light.

And honestly? The Bible goes hard with this imagery.

The prophet Malachi called the coming Messiah the:

“Sun of righteousness with healing in His wings.” — Book of Malachi 4:2

See?

Mike Todd didn’t just invent this while freestyle preaching over keyboard pads and smoke machines.

There is biblical precedent for connecting Jesus with the sun metaphorically.

And let’s be honest: the sun is the source of life for the earth. Without it?

Everything goes away. Plants collapse. Ecosystems fail.

Humanity becomes an expensive popsicle.

Spiritually speaking, that lines up with Christ being the sustaining source of all things.

Paul wrote:

“For by Him all things were created… and in Him all things hold together.” — Epistle to the Colossians 1:16-17

That’s not a totally massively  absurdly statement.

Also:

“In Him was life, and that life was the light of men.” — The Gospel of John 1:4

So no, the metaphor itself isn’t crazy.

But relax, brother.

Not every metaphor needs a matching color collection.

Still, if we strip away the theatrics, the core idea actually lands:

Jesus is the source. The illuminator. The giver of life. The One creation revolves around.

Which honestly makes the church discourse funny.

Maybe next time just workshop the phrasing a little before Twitter gets involved.
